Coronavirus (COVID) Planning Update

Dear Clients and Friends,

Like many of you, Allen Trust Company is monitoring global news and following stories around the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak. We would like to take a moment of your time to remind our clients and friends on how we are prepared to prevent business disruption.

Here at Allen Trust Company, we take pride in our level of client service and that we are always a phone call or an email away should they need anything. In that same spirit, we would like to assure you that in the event of a disruption, be it from COVID-19 or some other unforeseen events, Allen Trust Company will still be a touch away and will continue serving you.

How are we doing this?

  • As part of a regulated company, by the State of Oregon, we maintain Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery strategies that addresses the worst-case scenarios in the event of a significant business disruption, such as a natural disaster. Both strategies work together to address events such as loss of technology and/or personnel.

  • We regularly do drills where a controlled event such as loss of a key piece of technology and/or personnel is simulated. The goal is to see how our company can continue working to serve our clients. We review the results, make modifications, and improve our operations.

  • In the event of a loss of key personnel, we have short and long-term plans defined and documented.

  • Finally, in the last year, Allen Trust Company has invested heavily in its technology and employees. We are capable of remotely servicing our clients from the employee’s home or from our disaster recovery site. Rest assured, your phone calls and emails will be received, and your requests fulfilled.

Specific to the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak, Allen Trust Company has enabled the following protocols:

  • Guidance has been set for all employees regarding coronavirus symptoms, as well as general measures to control the spread of germs during the flu season.

  • Currently all employees at Allen Trust Company are healthy! We are doing all we can to keep everyone healthy. We are also asking our clients that if they or anyone in their family or workplace are running a fever or not feeling well to please stay home. We can easily reschedule your appointment when you’re feeling better.

As the Chief Operating Officer for Allen Trust Company, I am the person behind the scenes that ensures operations run smoothly while managing risk. If you are ever curious regarding any operation issues, please ask for me the next time you are in the office.

Respectfully,

Andreas Steven

Chief Operating Officer
