Carrie H. Nobles, CTFA, Retires from Allen Trust Company
Carrie H. Nobles, CTFA, Director of Trust Services, is retiring after a well-earned career. Carrie dedicated 15 years at Allen Trust Company and was a foundational team player that has continued to inspire, teach, and grow the company. Carrie has shared her story of the experiences that have led to where she is today.
“Arriving as I did from a large commercial bank with thousands of employees, Allen Trust Company appealed to me because it is an independent trust company-a boutique firm--small, nimble, and locally owned, staffed with seasoned trust and investment professionals. It was the perfect place to continue developing my career, offering so many opportunities for personal and professional growth and to meet new people in the industry. Until my retirement, I served as Director of Trust Services for Allen Trust Company.
[Growing up] My first 10 years were spent in a mining camp high up in the Peruvian Andes where my dad was the lab director for an American mining company. We then moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where I spent many years. My late husband Buddy and I came to Oregon after falling in love with all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer---mountains, snow, ocean, high desert, temperate climate, magnificent vistas in every direction. No biting or stinging bugs! No humidity! We became avid hikers, snowshoers, and adventurers, spending thousands of car miles exploring back roads, hidden places, forests and deserts, and so many of the natural marvels of this land. Moving here was our big adventure and our dream come true.
In looking back over my years as a trust officer, I can truly say that I’ve done much good work, I’ve helped many people, and I’ve become a better person. That is the advice I would give to anyone---always do your best, adhere to proper principles of conduct, look for opportunities to help others, and stay true to your values. Integrity---people know it when they see it.”
We applaud Carrie as she embarks on her far-reaching bucket list. This includes traveling to Antarctica, including Tierra del Fuego and Patagonia, Botswana, Newfoundland; taking up yoga, learning to program her VCR, take family trips, and finally, read Will and Ariel Durant’s History of Civilization. The Allen Trust Company team and clients will greatly miss Carrie and the joy she brings to each day. We wish her all the best as she begins her new journey.
