Trust Us: 2025 is About Growth, Grit, and a Little PNW Magic

At Allen Trust Company, our role is to guide you through the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead, ensuring your wealth aligns with your personal goals and legacy plans. The outlook for 2025 reflects a world in transition, with economic shifts, evolving family needs, and a growing emphasis on sustainability and security. Let me share how these trends could shape our approach to protecting and growing your wealth while preserving what matters most to you.

“Looking into 2025, the economic and capital markets seem more uncertain than they have been for a quite some time. The data released recently give a clear picture of a slowing economy that seems to be at a point where a little bit more of a cool down, we could drop like a rock into recession. On the other hand, if consumers and businesses become just a little bit more optimistic, the economy and markets could take off again. This murky outlook is created at least in part to the November election and the two very different views the respective candidates offer. If the future at least rhymes with the past, this election us unlikely to significantly alter the path of the U.S. economy, so we can then offer an outlook independent of knowing the winner but rather count on the strength of U.S. businesses and consumers.” (Clint McGarvin, CFA, Senior Portfolio Manager.)

While the tools we use to manage your wealth may evolve, the foundation of our work together is trust and communication. I’m here to listen to your concerns, answer your questions, and provide advice that’s tailored to you—not just your finances, but your life

Rain, Ice Storms, or Shine, We Made 2024 in the PNW Divine

As 2024 comes to a close, I want to reflect on the last year, share some updates, and express my gratitude for your trust and partnership throughout the year. Starting the year with the January ice storm in the Portland and surrounding area was a challenge both for our team and clients, but with our constantly improvements to technology, we were able to seamlessly continue to serve our clients and we thankfully endured. Our team continued to navigate new waters with updates to the tax code and endeavored to provide clarity as to why tax filing extensions are prevalent with the roll out of increasingly complex tax laws. It is no secret that changes in AI and Cybersecurity continued to play a prevalent role in the world, so we shared strategies to keep our clients vigilant and their information safe.

This past year has been one of growth for our team. We’ve continued to welcome new staff members who bring fresh perspectives and expertise, and we’ve introduced several internal improvements to enhance efficiency and ensure your financial needs are met with precision and care. Finally, you may have seen our announcement earlier this year, but in case you missed it, Allen Trust Company 100% employee owned! This transition is aiming to support future stability and prosperity of the employees and the company.

For 2025, we’re excited to build on this momentum. We’ll continue to expand our team, bringing in talented professionals to provide you with even greater support. Growth remains a key focus, as we aim to refine our services and expand our capabilities to serve you better. We’re also committed to ongoing improvements—whether it’s through adopting innovative tools, streamlining our processes, or delivering more personalized guidance tailored to your goals.

I’m excited about the opportunities we’ll uncover together. Markets may shift, and new trends will emerge, but our focus will always be on helping you achieve the goals that matter most to you. Thank you for trusting us to be part of your financial journey—it’s a privilege we don’t take lightly. Your success is our top priority, and we’re excited to support you locally as we move into another year of opportunities.
